Every web blogger knows the potential of MyBloglog in the internet. It is so powerful that even Techcrunch keeps this widget in their website. You can use this widget to track the recent visitors of your blog or website who are members of this community (of course only if they sign in and visit your blog, their visit is recorded).
After the acquisition of this community by Yahoo, there were no major updates in this community but the number of registered users have increased to three fold(roughly). Now, Yahoo is struggling for its existence against Microsoft's deal and Google's offer. It has focused on increasing its reputation in internet from its child sites like mybloglog, flickr, yahoo buzz,... And here we will tell about Mybloglog's latest updates that are going to be released in 2 weeks, its name is "New with me" and here are its details.
In short, it is a feature through which all the activities that you did in some selected sites (like bebo, flickr,...) are visible in your profile with your permission. With the given user name, they crawl the rss feeds of selected sites and put that data in your profile.
The presently selected site are
- Bebo
- Deli.cio.us
- Digg
- Flickr
- Jumpcut
- Last.FM
- MyBlogLog
- Netflix
- Stumbleupon
- Twitter
- Yahoo Answers
- Yelp
- YouTube
- Upcoming
Privacy : You no need to worry about your privacy, because Yahoo take cares of your privacy for example, the images that are tagged as private in flickr, will not appear in your mybloglog profile [:)]If you are uncomfortable with any of your updates being aggregated by New with Me, simply go to the Services tab of your Profile and remove your screen name.
There is a small grey box [x] that will allow you to clear an item for your New with Me page. It will also remove this item from appearing anywhere on MyBlogLog.com. Thus, you can remove any item from your new with me page.
I think this is a good feature as it will allow your users to know more about you and you can also show your other interests other than just blogging; it will help you to get more friends and of course users also to your site/blog.
