RadioShack Corporation is first off the blocks in the US to offer the Acer Aspire One netbook that comes with a built-in 3G modem so that you will be able to connect to your favorite website and surf the Internet no matter where you are without having to have something ugly dangling out from the back, as long as there is a suitable signal that is. It is hoped that this special version of the Acer Aspire One will be able to fulfill people’s growing needs for mobile access to the Internet, and we’ll take a closer look at the Acer Aspire One just in case you’ve forgotten what it offers.
Among the features and specifications found on the Acer Aspire One 3G netbook include :-
- Weighs 2.44 pounds
- Ultra-compact size (9.8″ x 6.7″ x 1.1″)
- Stylish piano-black finish

- 802.11b/g wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity
- 8.9″ LCD screen
- Built-in Web cam

Just how much do you think this Aspire One netbook will cost? Well, it is priced at $99.99 for those who want to tether themselves to AT&T’s two-year DataConnect mobile broadband service agreement that will feature plans that start from $60 a month. When activated, folks will be able to jump aboard the Internet bandwagon as long as they remain within range of AT&T’s wireless network. The offer is specially available in 4,400 RadioShack company-operated stores until Christmas Eve, while those outside continental US might have to settle for a different pricing structure.
Would you mind picking up the Acer Aspire One from AT&T in this way, or are you OK with a high-speed 3G modem sticking out from the back of your netbook on your travels? Sure, this is much easier to pack but you won’t be able to transfer the modem’s usefulness to other computers when you need to.
