Live TV, high speed data download and video streaming on mobile phone on Thursday became a reality in India, with state owned MTNL launching the next generation 3G technology-based Telecom services in the country.



Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh inaugurated the service and Minister for Communications and IT, A. Raja presided over the function,at India Telecom 2008, in New Delhi.

The country’s first video call was enabled by Motorola’s 3G network and Motorola’s MOTORAZR2 V9 Ferrari Special Edition mobile phone.

MTNL’s customers in the metros of New Delhi and Mumbai will be the first to experience new services like high speed data transfers, video streaming
and conferencing, mobile TV, video mobile surveillance and mobile internet broadband.

MTNL has selected Motorola’s next-generation 3G network infrastructure that includes radio access network, core network elements and various services like project management, networks deployments and system integration.



BSNL will launch 3G services in Chennai next month.

Google on tuesday launched its opensource web browser 'Google chrome'.The new browser is available for download in many countries in about 43 languages.The news brokeout when google leaked its comic book containing the preview of its browser.Though there is no need of a browser now as Mozilla has got millions of users which google promotes.Its creators said that what they want to build is a browser which is faster,safer & easier to use.


The chrome works on windows but work is going on to make it work on other O.S. Instead of traditional tabs like those seen in Firefox, Chrome puts the tab buttons on the upper side of the window, not below the address bar.As a default homepage Chrome presents you with a kind of “speed dial” feature, similar to the one of Opera. On that page you will see your most visited webpages as 9 screenshot thumbnails. To the side, you will also see a couple of your recent searches and your recently bookmarked pages, as well as recently closed tabs. Chrome has a privacy mode; Google says you can create an “incognito” window “and nothing that occurs in that window is ever logged on your computer.”Web apps can be launched in their own browser window without address bar and toolbar. Cuil (pronounce it as "cool") is a new search engine that displays the results with relatively long entries.Cuil was founded by highly respected team of Tom Costello who has worked with IBM and former employees of Google Anna Patterson, Russell Power and Louis Monier. Tom Costello heads the company.The company raised $33 million from venture capital firms.It went live on 28th of july 2008.Its launch created widespread press coverage as its founders say they offer faster & cheaper webpage indexes than google.But on the same day Cuil nearly crashed immediately after launch owing to "overwhelming demand".The founders say it needs to be debugged to improve its results.

Google has finally made the official announcement about the retirement of the Google Adsense Referrals. Google acquired DoubleClick a while ago and is finally implementing its technology & had built the Google Affiliate Network (GAN). GAN will work same as Google Adsense Referrals but the difference here will be that GAN will be targeting users located in the United States.

It has hardly been five days now for Opera 9.5 being released, the statistics reported by Opera Watch are just amazing. Opera hits more than 4.7 million downloads that’s almost a million download a day. And active opera are detected on around 20 million desktops & Opera Mini has been raised to 12 million mobiles.

  New usage figures are out as well, and they look just as good, with more than 20 million users running the desktop browser, and 12 million running Opera Mini. That’s twice the number of users they had when Opera 9.0 appeared two years ago.

  To put these numbers in perspective:
  # Nearly one-fourth of Opera users downloaded the new release within the first five days.
  # Opera Mini has more than half as many users as Opera Desktop.
  # More people use Opera Desktop each month than live in the state of New York.
  # More people use Opera Mini each month than live in Greece

After the launch of Gmail from Google, Yahoo faced a diverted crowd to it. Since then both these major competitors in e-mail market have been offering various services like free IMAP & POP, tons of free storage, etc to beat each other. And this fight comes to domains. Yahoo brings two new domains ymail.com & rocketmail.com to beat the market.
Rocketmail.com was acquired by Yahoo in 1997 along with his owner. Currently both ymail.com & rocketmail.com point to Yahoo Mail. At 12 PDT today you will be able to create email address with these domains.
